Main Features

  • Unit suitable for inner and outer diameter stone lapping of workpieces
  • Can be easily installed either horizontally or vertically on general-purpose machines such as like NC lathes, allowing for use in a variety of applications
  • The AEROLIDE® mechanism (5-year warranty) combines a highly rigid unit with air bearings that have high load capacity, along with an offset balance mechanism to realize high balance. This eliminates deterioration of accuracy caused by slide surface wear, a major drawback of conventional stone lapping machines, and troublesome maintenance issues. Machining accuracy is also further enhanced with quiet linear movement.　
  • Realizes accurate and stable oscillation with amplitude of 0.3mm and 4,000 FPM, which cannot be found anywhere else
  • The oscillation mechanism employs an eccentric cam system moves the grindstone back and forth to secure stable amplitude. Secondary vibration is completely eliminated through use of an inertial balance mechanism that reciprocates back-and-forth motion.
  • Adoption of an electropneumatic regulator system for grindstone pressure setting makes multi-step changeover for rough, intermediate, and fine machining possible. Number of oscillations, grindstone pressure and machining times can be switched at multiple steps, allowing for optimal conditions to be set for rough, medium, and finish machining.
    ※The benefits of the multi-step machining are, at the rough machining step, efficient workpiece surface grinding by machining at high pressure and focusing the grindstone conditions so that cutting occurs, and at the finishing step, obtaining a satisfactory finish by focusing the grindstone conditions using low pressure so that no cutting occurs.
